Ezebunwa E. Nwokocha Fnasa is a professor of sociology at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, where he has worked for over two decades. He has done extensive research in population, maternal and child health, adolescent sexuality and malaria. As a distinguished Monitoring and Evaluation Consultant, he has supported notable organizations such as UNICEF, UNODC, Ford Foundation, UNESCO, World Bank, UNFPA, Clinton Health Access Initiative and MacArthur Foundation among others. He is a member of the boards of ActionAid Nigeria, MikeHelen Dream Alive Foundation and Justice Development and Peace Commission (JDPC) of the Catholic Archdiocese of Ibadan. He is a recipient of several grants and fellowships and has a long list of publications in local and international high impact journals.
Dr. Nwokocha was the immediate past Head, Department of Sociology, University of Ibadan; immediate past Representative, Faculty of the Social Sciences on the University of Ibadan Appointments and Promotions Committee. He is a Senior Research Associate at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa; Editor-in-Chief, the Nigerian Journal of Sociology and Anthropology and until very recently, Chairman of the Committee of Heads of Departments of Sociology and Anthropology in Nigerian universities.
He belongs to a number of professional associations including, Nigerian Anthropological and Sociological Practitioners Association (NASA), Population Association of Nigeria (PAN), Union of African Population Studies (UAPS), International Sociological Association (ISA), and International Union for the Scientific Study of Population (IUSSP).
The Faculty of the Social Sciences elected him as Dean and he assumed the position on the 1st of August 2022. To God be the glory.

Demography, Reproductive/Maternal Health; Gender Issues and Community Development; Adolescent Sexuality, HIV and AIDS/Vulnerable populations, Urban risk factors and Monitoring and Evaluation.
