Senior Lecturer, Demography and Social Statistics
Funke Fayehun is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Sociology, University of Ibadan. She obtain a Bachelors of Science Degree in Statistics, and M.Sc and Ph.D Degrees in Sociology (Demography Option) at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. She is a Population Scientist with particular interest in the vulnerable groups in the society: women, children and the elderly. In addition to teaching and research within the university, she has participated in a number of consultancies based on her research interest. Olufunke received the Council for Development of Social Science Research in Africa (CODESRIA) grant for doctoral research in 2005, African Doctoral Dissertation Research Fellowship in 2008 and USAID/ICF Macro MEASURE DHS Fellowship in Population and Health 2009/2010. She is a member of International Sociological Association (ISA), Population Association of America (PAA) and International Union for the Scientific Study of Population (IUSSP). She is the university’s co-focal person at Consortium for Advanced Research Training in Africa (CARTA).
